In the 21st century, frequent natural and man-made disasters clearly reveal the signs of the Lord’s return. The Herald Foundation is a global care network established by CCHC to respond to the needs of our times, demonstrating God’s love amid disasters and radiating compassion in the darkness.
The Herald Foundation was established in 2006 and, over the past 18 years, has been involved in numerous major disaster relief efforts, including relief activities for the Wenchuan and Yushu earthquakes in China, the earthquakes in Japan, Haiti, Nepal, Turkey, and others. Numerous other relief projects, such as those for floods and fires, are too numerous to list. Additionally, charitable projects under the Herald Foundation’s umbrella include the Children Homes in China, the “Herald Monthly Love Focus” scholarship program, love of acts to mountainous regions, community services, school construction, road building, and the establishment of clinics.
Each disaster relief effort has been a gripping and intense operation. Rev. David Lee, the Foundation’s “Disaster Relief Hero,” went to Turkey last year on behalf of CCHC to comfort disaster victims. He reported:
“The severely affected area in Turkey is Antioch, where the early church was first established, and where Jesus’ disciples were first called ‘Christians.’ Many Christians from all over the world are doing their utmost to help the victims. There is even a saying in the area: ‘If you need help, go to find a Christian!’ Many disaster victims also asked, ‘Where can we find a Bible in Turkish?’ or ‘Can we be baptized?’ These deeply touched my heart!”
The compassionate actions of Christians have transformed into light and warmth, bringing comfort to those in need and drawing them to trust in Jesus. In recent years, a young and beautiful church sister testified at her wedding, saying, “I was born with a congenital heart defect and was critically ill as a child. The Herald Foundation funded my corrective heart surgery, allowing me to live a healthy life to this day. This also drew me to trust in Jesus and become a citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven!”
May the Herald Foundation continue to engage in more charitable work in the future, filling the world with love and warmth!
