夏威夷分會

夏威夷是個小島，遠離「角聲」總會，坐飛機要11小時才能到達紐約。但我們感謝「角聲」總會的支持和鼓勵，特別是周簡艷珍姊妹帶領不同的宣教士，來到夏威夷為此小島作無私的奉獻，舉辦《兒童聖經樂園》，讓小孩子能夠認識耶穌基督。

夏威夷「角聲」事工包括：每月派發5,000份《號角月報》到不同的社區，商店、餐館及眾華人教會。「角聲」總會2024年的主題是 「策略聯盟、為主卓越」；「角聲」的宗旨是：「結合社會關懷及佈道，領回圈外的羊。在各地華人社區中，建立一個完整清晰的基督徒見證──堅定的信仰，愛心的關懷，活出《聖經》的價值觀。」

夏威夷「角聲」分會以此為念，與檀島華人宣道會合作，成功舉辦了幾次 《兒童聖經樂園》。耶穌說：「讓小孩子到我這裡來，不要禁止他們，因為天國屬於這樣的人。」（《馬太福音》十九章14節)。

今年3月18-22日在檀島華人宣道會舉辦的《春假兒童聖經樂園》，有17名小朋友參加，其中9人决志信主。有一位家長信主及全家參加教會聚會，她雖然仍未受洗，但已開始帶領其他家庭參加教會。7月22日至8月2日在同一會址舉辦的《暑假兒童聖經樂園》，有26名小朋友參加，有13位小朋友決志信主，並吸引了兩位家長參加教會。

每次《兒童聖經樂園》的最后一天，我們都會為孩子和家長舉行「紛紛親子晚會」，把他們做的手工展覽及晚宴招待家長、未信朋友及教會會友，小朋友會到台上唱歌助慶，為《兒童聖經樂園》劃上完美的句號。

今年10月7至11日，我們會再與檀島華人宣道會合作，舉辦《秋季兒童聖經樂園》，希望接觸更多的年輕家庭，讓教會更年輕化。明年即2025年1月6-11日，夏威夷「角聲」分會將與「角聲護家中心」合辦親子、家庭講座，在檀香山華人信義會舉行。講題有：「健康婚姻關係」、「情緒管理」、「一生的成長，一生的祝福」；「聆聽陪伴」及「問問題的藝術」；「單親家庭重建」；「培養優秀、健康及有影響力的下一代」。此外還有為說英語的年輕人而設的講座：「爸爸、媽媽，請聆聽我的心聲(Mom and Dad, Please Listen to Me!)」。

期望夏威夷「角聲」分會，在一群愛主的執行委員及不同教會、協工的支持下，能茁壯地成長，成為合神心意的分會，帶領更多人相信基督，為主發光！

Hawaii is a small island, far away from the CCHC Headquarters. It takes 11 hours to fly to New York. However, we are grateful to the Headquarters for its support and encouragement, especially Mrs. Chau who brings different missionaries to Hawaii each time, offering their time and efforts to the “Children’s Bible Paradise” program and leading children to Christ.

The purpose of the CCHC is to combine social care and evangelism to bring back the sheep outside the fold; establish a complete and clear Christian witness in Chinese communities everywhere – firm in faith, loving in care, and living out biblical values. One of Hawaii branch‘s ministries is distributing 5,000 copies of the Herald monthly to different communities, stores, restaurants, and Chinese churches in Hawaii.

CCHC’s annual theme of 2024 is “Strategic Alliances for Excellence in the Lord.” With this in mind, Hawaii branch successfully organized several “Bible Paradise” in cooperation with the Honolulu Chinese Alliance Church. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 19:14)

During March 18-22 this year, we organized the “Spring Break Children’s Bible Paradise” at the Honolulu Chinese Alliance Church. There were 17 children participating and 9 children accepted Christ. In addition, one parent came to believe in the Lord, and now her whole family attends church. Although she has not yet been baptized, she is already leading other families to church. Later in the summer from July 22 to August 2, a two-week Bible Paradise was held with 26 children attending two and 13 children accepted Christ. In addition, two parents started attending church.

On the last day of the Bible Paradise, parents, friends, and church members were entertained with an exhibition of their handicrafts and a dinner. The children came to the stage to sing and celebrate, marking a wonderful and perfect ending to the program.

From October 7 to 11 this year, the church and CCHC will organize another Bible Paradise during Fall Break. It is hoped that we can lead more children and parents to Christ.

Next year the CCHC Hawaii Chapter will co-organize with the Herald Family Rebuilding Center (HFRC) a series of lectures concerning parenting and family issues. These lectures will be held at the Honolulu Chinese Lutheran Church from January 6-11. Various topics will be covered, including Healthy Marriage Relationships, Emotion Management, A Lifetime of Growth and Blessings, Listening and Companionship, The Art of Asking Questions, The Reconstruction of Single-Parent Families, and Cultivating an Excellent, Healthy, and Influential Next Generation. There will also be a lecture specifically for English-speaking young people titled, “Mom and Dad, Please Listen to Me!”

We hope that, with the support of God-loving executive committee members, various churches, and co-workers, the Hawaii Branch will grow robustly and become a branch after God’s heart, leading more people to believe in Christ and shine for the Lord!
