中國兒童之家事工

疫情後中國全面開放，工作完全回復正常。我們在假日和暑期，舉辦了多個愛心之旅，有來自美國東西兩岸、澳洲、香港及中國的廣州、上海、西安、天津及雲南的守護天使和支持者，到綿陽和咸陽兒童之家服事。

我們為孩子們舉辦營會、活動、學業、心理輔導和實用講座，期間更前往山區，探望離院孩子和他們的家人，關心他們的需要。我們更利用孩子暑假回家期間，為員工們舉辦活動，讓員工們透過共處，彼此更多了解，從而建立團隊精神。今年綿陽及咸陽兩個兒童之家，有多位高三的孩子畢業，考上大專院校，我們提供了獎、助學金，支持獎勵他們，祝福他們展開人生的新一頁！

16年前，由「角聲」及香港華恩基金會建立的廣西都安兒童之家，由於廣西地方政府的兒童政策改變，政府開辦類似性質的兒童院，並確定有能力接手營運，在友好協商下，共同舉辦了15週年紀念活動，為廣西兒童事工劃上了句號。當地政府承諾妥善照顧留院孩子，讓他們的生活和學習不受影響。

回顧過往16年，我們在廣西總共服侍了231位孩子，已經長大離院有198名，包括：完成高中、職中學業的有113名，完成大專、大學的有55名；正在就讀大專、大學的有28名。能在他們最困難的時候幫助他們，並看見他們成長，實在感恩﹗

此外，「角聲」和「華恩」作了各方面的考量，為讓兒童之家更靈活地運作，雙方取得共識，決定從2024年1月1日開始，每所兒童之家在行政及經濟上，用單一管理模式獨立運作。香港華恩基金會負責「福建三明兒童之家」。「角聲」則負責「四川綿陽」和「陝西咸陽」兩所兒童之家。

期待將來在中國接觸更多對特困兒童有感動、有承擔的支持者。用中國資源做中國事，我們會繼續努力！

With China fully reopened after the pandemic, work has returned to normal. During holidays and summer vacations, we organized several “Love Journeys,” with guardians and supporters coming from the East and West coasts of the United States, Australia, Hong Kong, and Chinese cities such as Guangzhou, Shanghai, Xi’an, Tianjin, and Yunnan. They served at the Mianyang and Xianyang Children Homes.

We held camps, activities, academic programs, psychological counseling sessions, and practical workshops for the children. We also visited children, who had left the Children’s Home, and their families in mountainous areas, attending to their needs. During the children’s summer vacation, we organized activities for the staff to foster understanding and build team spirit. This year, several children from the Mianyang and Xianyang Children Homes graduated from high school and were admitted to colleges and universities. We provided scholarships and financial aid to support and reward them, wishing them a bright new chapter in life!

Sixteen years ago, CCHC and the Gratia Foundation Ltd (HK) established the Du’an Children’s Home in Guangxi. Due to changes in the local government’s child welfare policies, the government has opened similar institutions and is prepared to take over their operations. After friendly negotiations, a joint 15th-anniversary event was held to mark the conclusion of the Guangxi children’s ministry. The local government has promised to take proper care of the remaining children so that their lives and education will not be affected.

Looking back over the past 16 years, we have served a total of 231 children in Guangxi, 198 of whom have grown up and left the Home. Among them, 113 completed high school or vocational studies, 55 graduated from colleges or universities, and 28 are currently enrolled in higher education. It is truly a blessing to have helped them during their most challenging times and to witness their growth!

Furthermore, CCHC and the Gratia Foundation have made various considerations to allow greater flexibility in the operation of the Children Homes. It was mutually agreed that, starting from January 1, 2024, each Children Home will operate independently under a single management model, both administratively and financially. Gratia Foundation will be responsible for the Sanming Children Home in Fujian, while CCHC will manage the Mianyang Children Home in Sichuan and the Xianyang Children Home in Shaanxi.

We look forward to connecting with more supporters in China who will be committed to helping underprivileged children. Using Chinese resources to address Chinese needs, we will continue our efforts!
